RecycleIt is leading the way in clean energy within the waste management sector. Our Renewable Energy Policy outlines how we reduce fossil fuel dependence by integrating solar, wind, and biogas systems across our operations.
We have started deploying solar panels to power our offices and sorting stations, and we explore biogas production from biodegradable waste. Our long-term plan includes using clean energy in all recycling stages — from collection to processing.
This initiative aligns with Kenya’s Energy Act (2019) and our internal sustainability goals. We continuously review our energy usage, set annual targets, and upgrade technologies as they evolve.
We also educate staff and the community on renewable energy benefits. Through training, demos, and local engagement, we aim to create awareness and inspire more Kenyans to adopt clean energy solutions.
What renewable sources do you use?
Solar, wind, and biogas are our primary focus. We use solar power for facilities and are piloting biogas from organic waste.
Do you sell energy back to the grid?
Not yet, but we aim to achieve surplus generation in the future that could contribute to local energy needs.
How do you educate the public?
We conduct community workshops, school talks, and share educational materials on clean energy use and its benefits.
